"STYLE IS THE ANSWER TO EVERYTHING. A FRESH WAY TO APPROACH A DULL OR DANGEROUS THING, TO DO A DULL THING WITH STYLE IS PREFERABLE TO DOING A DANGEROUS THING WITHOUT IT. TO DO A DANGEROUS THING WITH STYLE IS WHAT I CALL ART."

Charles Bukowski is a German born American, he was a prolific and influential 20th century poet, short story writer and novelist. I accidentally came across Bukowski and his work as music artist Harry Styles used a piece of his dialogue to open his set. I was unintentionally gripped by what Bukowski was saying as it resonated with, he speaks with abundance of principle. He says "To do a dangerous thing with style is what i call art." I'm finding links between this particular statement and the way in which Alexander McQueen tackled dangerous and topical subjects. Bukowski's right in saying that things tackled with style, is art. He used poetry and prose to depict the depravity of urban life and the down-trodden in American society, relying on experience, emotion, and imagination.
